The September/October 2026 issue of Lake Mary Life includes “Growing Forward,” a two-page feature by Beverly Sorrells on our flagship garden behind the Rescue Outreach Mission in Sanford, which the magazine calls the People’s Garden. The garden started in 2022 at about 600 square feet and now covers roughly 5,500 square feet of growing space, with hydroponic systems, fruit trees and seasonal vegetables.
The article also covers the garden’s new designation as a Florida Master Gardener learning and volunteer site, our educational garden partnership with Seminole State College, and the portable People’s Grow House kits Pardeep is developing so any community can start growing its own food.

Please consider making a donation.
Your donations will make a positive impact by enabling us to fund a portion of the costs of the monthly farm tours, host training workshops and provide associated manuals, cover staff costs and assist the building and installation of sustainable food gardens using recirculating farming methods including Aquaponics and Hydroponics. This will empower individuals and communities by providing solutions to end hunger rather than continued continued reliance on food aid.
